How should end users test gas hob?

Oct. 8,2020

We test every gas hob at low and high heat.

For all gas hob, it will be fare well enough to cook over medium heat. But a good product can help the Chef to boil quickly and simmer steadily.

For high-heat cooking, we use a standard size pot, filled with about 4 L of water, on the largest burner, which normally 3500 W. We jack up the burner to the maximum fire setting and note the time with when the water heats up.

For low-heat cooking, we use the smallest burner to melt chocolate and then simmer milk and water, evaluate how well the hob hold a steady simmer temperature without dropping too low or burnt the contents of the pan.
